Fujitsu Unveils New AI Technology to Support Human-Robot Collaboration

Fujitsu has announced the development of a new AI technology designed to support more effective human–robot collaboration. This innovation, referred to as a spatial world model, enables robots to predict the future behaviors and states of humans and objects within a shared environment, improving coordination, safety and collaborative performance.

The technology makes it possible for robots to create an internal representation of a real-world space, allowing them to assess spatial dynamics, anticipate movements, and adapt their actions accordingly. By equipping robots with a better understanding of how people and objects interact within a scene, Fujitsu aims to support smoother and more intuitive human–robot work environments.

Fujitsu stated that the spatial world model technology will be featured during CES 2026, where it will be showcased alongside other innovations at the Las Vegas technology exhibition. The company also plans to conduct additional technical demonstrations at its headquarters throughout fiscal year 2026.

This development reflects broader trends in physical AI and collaborative robotics, as the industry seeks to bridge the gap between autonomous machines and human workflows in factories, smart facilities and everyday environments.
