Weighing over 20000 tons, China's largest offshore oil and gas platform in the Bohai Sea has been completed and shipped

According to CNOOC, the central processing platform of the first phase of the Kenli 10-2 oilfield group development project has departed from the international high-end equipment manufacturing base in Qingdao, Shandong, marking the completion of all onshore engineering of the platform and entering the offshore operation stage. The platform has implemented multiple pioneering technologies, creating new records for the size and weight of offshore oil and gas platforms in the Bohai region.

It is reported that the Kenli 10-2 oilfield is the largest lithological oilfield discovered offshore in China to date, with proven geological reserves of over 100 million tons of crude oil. The first phase of the project's central processing platform is a 3-layer, 8-legged multifunctional offshore platform that integrates production and living. It is 22.8 meters high and has a design weight of over 20000 tons. It is the heaviest and largest offshore oil and gas platform in the Bohai Sea.

The quality of crude oil in different blocks of the Kenli 10-2 oilfield varies greatly. The central platform is designed with two sets of systems for hot and cold recovery, equipped with more than 240 sets of key equipment. It is currently one of the most complex production platforms in the Bohai region. The project has overcome the key technology of lightweight design for ultra large offshore platforms, and for the first time in China, 420 megapascal high-strength steel has been applied to the construction of upper modules for offshore oil and gas platforms. While maximizing the "slimming" of the platform, it has opened up a new path for the large-scale application of domestically produced high-strength steel in offshore engineering.

In addition, the platform is equipped with an engineering production integrated intelligent assistant based on Deepseek-R1, which can achieve the integration of intelligent production, energy consumption management, and safety management, focusing on building an innovative offshore low-carbon intelligent platform with artificial intelligence as the core.

IT Home learned from CNOOC that the central processing platform of the Kenli 10-2 Oilfield Group Development Project (Phase I) has a total pipeline length of 42000 meters, welding length of over 40000 meters, and a total cable length of about 760000 meters. The project workload is twice that of conventional projects, and nearly 1300 people participate in construction during peak operation periods.

The smooth departure and shipment of the platform marks a new stage in the development and construction of the Kenli 10-2 oilfield, which is of great significance for the Bohai oilfield's oil and gas production of 40 million tons by 2025, and can further enhance the energy supply capacity of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei and Bohai Rim regions.
