Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei Meets with Thailand's Newly Appointed Foreign Minister Sihasasa

According to the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, on October 7th, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei met with Thailand's newly appointed Foreign Minister Sihasasa at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Zhang Jianwei congratulated Xi Hasa on his appointment as Foreign Minister and expressed that China and Thailand will jointly celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. China is willing to work with Thailand to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, prepare for important high-level exchanges within the year, promote the continuous deepening and implementation of the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Thailand, and benefit both countries and the region.

Xi Hasa welcomes Ambassador Zhang Jianwei's appointment and expresses that Thailand attaches great importance to its relations with China, looks forward to strengthening comprehensive strategic cooperation with China, promoting common development, and contributing to peace and prosperity in the region and even the world.

Both sides also exchanged views on the situation at the Thai Cambodian border and met with reporters. Zhang Jianwei reiterated that China has no personal interests in the Thai Cambodian border issue and has always upheld a fair and just stance to promote peace talks. Since the conflict, China has not provided Cambodia with any military equipment for attacking Thailand. The Chinese military equipment possessed by Cambodia comes from existing cooperation projects.
