In 2025, Malaysia will assume the rotating presidency of ASEAN. On October 26th, the 47th ASEAN Summit and other series of meetings opened in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Timor Leste officially joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at this meeting, becoming the eleventh member of ASEAN.
Taking this opportunity, the Malaysian Students' Association in China (MSAC) and the Malaysian Students' Association studying in Beijing (AMSIB) will join hands to hold a youth festival showcasing ASEAN culture in the Chinese capital, Beijing. The aim is to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between ASEAN and Chinese students, and promote cultural connectivity among ASEAN students studying in China.
“SEA YOU@ASEAN The Youth Day 2025 will open on December 14, 2025 at the Beijing Dabei Nong Phoenix International Innovation Park. The activities include traditional cultural performances between ASEAN countries and China, ethnic costumes and specialty foods, immersive cultural and visual experiences, and promoting interactive exchanges between ASEAN and Chinese cultures.
The event organizer stated that friends of any age and nationality are welcome to participate.
It is reported that this event has received support from institutions such as the Embassy of Malaysia in China, the China Malaysia Chamber of Commerce, and the China Farmers' Training Institute. The Singapore Student Association (Beijing), the Thai Chinese Students' Association, the Thai Students' Association in Beijing, the Myanmar Student Association at Peking University, the Indonesian Students' Association in Beijing, the Indonesian Students' Association in China, the Laotian Students' Association in Beijing, the Philippine Students' Federation in Beijing, the Vietnamese Students' Association in Beijing, the Chinese Students' Association studying in East Timor, Brunei students studying in Beijing, and Cambodian students studying in Beijing also participated in co organizing this event.
