Hong Kong Sharing Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation with Cambodia

On October 21st, the Hong Kong Sharing Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation with Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd. and Funan Dezuo River Sea Intermodal Transport Co., Ltd. on the "Dengue Fever and Other Insect borne Disease Health Risk Prevention and Control Project", and will carry out systematic vector prevention and control work at Dechong International Airport and Funan Dezuo Comprehensive Water Conservancy Project.

The Funan Dezuo Comprehensive Water Conservancy Project, as a major infrastructure jointly invested and constructed by China and Cambodia, has a total length of 180 kilometers. It starts from Phnom Penh Port in Ganla Province and flows through provinces and cities such as Chajiao, Gongbu, and Baima. It has functions of flood control, irrigation, and navigation, and is of great significance for promoting agricultural development and improving people's livelihoods in the basin. The foundation will deploy professional mosquito control equipment at various stations along the project route, including key areas such as construction camps and office areas, strengthen vector prevention and control management, and effectively ensure the health of construction personnel and project safety.

The memorandum of cooperation was jointly signed by Professor Chen Yingning, General Secretary of the Shared Foundation, and Gao Xin, CEO of Funan Dezuo River Sea Intermodal Transport Co., Ltd. It was witnessed by Leung Chun ying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Shared Foundation, IENG Sunly, Chairman of Funan Dezuo River Sea Intermodal Transport Co., Ltd., Jiang Nan, Acting Charg é d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, and Yang Jie, General Manager of China Road and Bridge Cambodia Office.

Liang Zhenying said at the signing ceremony that this cooperation reflects the deepening development of the "the Belt and Road" initiative - from infrastructure co construction to human health co protection, and from economic corridor construction to health community construction.

IENG Sunly pointed out that the cooperation will bring significant social and health benefits to the communities along the water conservancy project.
