Recently, whenever night falls, various village activity rooms located in Mengpeng Town, Zhenkang County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, on the China Myanmar border, become lively. After dinner, the villagers came with their elders and children, chatting and waiting for the movie. As the plot of anti drug themed movies progresses, real-life cases are integrated into anti drug propaganda and education, and the awareness of "cherishing life and staying away from drugs" takes root and sprouts in the hearts of the masses.

On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26th, the Mengpeng Border Police Station of the Lincang Border Management Detachment focused on the actual situation in its jurisdiction, carried out anti drug theme propaganda activities in villages through public welfare film screenings, and made every effort to connect the "last mile" of anti drug propaganda.
Mengpeng, meaning place where water splashes up in Dai language, is located in the northwest of Zhenkang County. Its unique geographical location is an important area connecting "two countries, two cities, and three counties" (China and Myanmar, Lincang and Baoshan cities, Zhenkang, Yongde, and Longling counties), and it is also the forefront of cracking down on drug-related illegal and criminal activities. The border line of Mengpeng Town is 21.4 kilometers long, with a total of 240 village groups and over 45600 permanent residents scattered among the border mountains.
It is unrealistic to gather so many people from border villages to promote in the town. If the masses cannot come, we will take the initiative to promote in the villages, and it is best to go at night. During the day, everyone is busy with farm work, "said Xiong Wenjie, a police officer from Mengpeng Border Police Station.
To further expand the coverage of anti drug propaganda, the Mengpeng Border Police Station fully utilizes the "Mengpeng New Maple" joint creation and construction mechanism of military, police, and local party organizations, and collaborates with local party committees, governments, cultural and tourism propaganda departments to carry out anti drug themed propaganda activities in villages within its jurisdiction, taking advantage of the opportunity of the Anti Drug Propaganda Month.
At the event site, police officers hung promotional banners, placed exhibition boards, distributed anti drug and anti HIV/AIDS and legal education materials, explained and displayed drug simulation models on site, and provided detailed information on the types, characteristics, hazards of common drugs, as well as methods for identifying drugs and preventing drug abuse.

In recent years, with the strong assistance of the border police station, villagers' awareness of drug prevention, refusal, and control has been improved, "said Pu Jianchang, Secretary of the Party Branch and Director of the Village Committee of Jiji Village.
To enhance the effectiveness of the event, the police will first play 15 to 20 minutes of legal anime, legal drama, anti drug and anti AIDS propaganda videos, etc., in a relaxed and interesting way to attract the attention of the public. Then, they will screen anti drug themed films such as "Drug Hunting Action" and "Anti Drug Campaign", allowing the public to deepen their understanding of the dangers of drugs through immersive viewing.
As of now, the Mengpeng Border Police Station has screened more than 10 anti drug themed films in 9 administrative villages including Baobaozhai, Haoziba, Walnut Hill, and Half Mountain in its jurisdiction. More than 4000 people have received education, and more than 2000 copies of various promotional materials and more than 1200 promotional material bags have been distributed. Many villagers have expressed that this educational and entertaining promotion method allows them to learn about drug control knowledge through leisure and entertainment.
