Newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, Zhang Jianwei arrives in Thailand to assume his duties

On July 29th, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Thailand, Zhang Jianwei, along with his wife Miao Haiyan, arrived in Thailand to assume their duties. Deputy Director of the East Asia Department of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ping Song, and key diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand went to the airport to greet them.

Zhang Jianwei stated that China and Thailand are friendly neighbors with a long history of friendship. The two countries work together and support each other, vividly demonstrating the profound friendship of the "China Thailand family". This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and the "golden 50 years of China Thailand friendship". China is comprehensively promoting the construction of a powerful country and the rejuvenation of the nation with Chinese path to modernization. Thailand is accelerating the transformation and upgrading of its economic structure to achieve sustainable economic growth.

Zhang Jianwei said, "I have been ordered to visit Thailand and deeply feel the glorious mission and great responsibility. I am willing to work with all sectors of Thailand to conscientiously implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote the continuous deepening and implementation of the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Thailand

Deputy Director Ping Song welcomed Ambassador Zhang Jianwei's appointment and expressed that the Thai side attaches great importance to the relationship between Thailand and China, and is willing to provide convenience for Ambassador Zhang Jianwei's performance.
