The theme of this event is the romantic encounter between the Huangpu River and the Mekong River, showcasing the diverse charm of Shanghai through light and shadow art, urban imagery, and interactive experiences.
Yu Garden Lantern Festival is a national intangible cultural heritage of China and a business card of Shanghai city. It was officially lit in Bangkok on June 28 this year, integrating modern lighting technology and traditional lights, presenting a cultural feast across mountains and seas for Thai people and global tourists. The "Charm Shanghai Week" held from August 9th to 15th will vividly present Shanghai's visual arts and cultural landscape through urban image exhibitions, immersive experiences, cultural and creative exhibitions, and simultaneously launch the "Shanghai Summer" global promotion · Bangkok station event.
The "Charming Shanghai · Shining Bangkok" urban image exhibition gathers over a hundred photography, illustration, and short video works from artists from China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, and other countries, documenting Shanghai's landmark buildings, fashion technology, and everyday life, showcasing the city's inclusive charm. The interactive experience area allows tourists to "travel" between Shanghai and Bangkok through AI technology, virtual check-in, and other methods, experiencing the charm of the two cities; Sun Wukong in the classic anime "Monkey King" transforms into a tour guide and leads tourists on a "cloud tour" of the Bund, Suzhou River, and other places.
The "Shanghai Summer" International Consumer Season Promotion Conference was held simultaneously at the opening ceremony. This event is a landmark brand for Shanghai to build an international consumer center city, launching diverse consumer experiences from July to October every year. The event launched 14 themed products and 2 themed services, combined with China's 240 hour visa free entry policy, to provide convenience and discounts for tourists in terms of "food, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping, entertainment" and other aspects.
