According to the China ASEAN Center, in order to deepen China ASEAN food and agriculture cooperation, the China ASEAN Center and the People's Government of Henan Province will jointly host the "2025 China (Henan) - ASEAN Food and Agriculture Cooperation Development Conference" in Zhengzhou from October 12th to 14th, 2025.
Liu Ning, Secretary of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, Wang Kai, Governor of Henan Provincial People's Government, Mu Gaiti, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, Ambassador Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of the China ASEAN Center, Bo Bojue, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar, Tu Tiati, Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei, Hong Nari, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia, Manaf, Governor of Aceh Province, Indonesia, Ying Jinliang, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, and nearly 400 Chinese and foreign political leaders and officials, as well as representatives from the agricultural and business circles in China and abroad, including Henan Agricultural University, Jiangsu University, Lao Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Chiang Mai University in Thailand, Bogor University.
The conference, with the theme of "Empowering Food and Agriculture Cooperation with Digital Intelligence and Driving Regional Development with Innovation", focused on multiple topics such as smart agriculture, animal husbandry, and international trade and investment in agricultural products. The conference exchanged views on how to implement the China ASEAN Leaders' Consensus, promote agricultural technology innovation sharing, green agriculture development, expand two-way agricultural trade and investment, work together to address global trade challenges, and jointly create regional agriculture and economic prosperity, and achieved multiple practical results. The conference announced the launch of the China (Henan) - ASEAN Smart Agriculture Comprehensive Demonstration Center, proposed the establishment of the China (Henan) - ASEAN Agricultural University Science and Technology Innovation Association, and signed 21 cooperation projects in fields such as grain production, agricultural science and technology, and agricultural product trade.
In his opening speech, Shi Zhongjun stated that under the strategic planning and continuous promotion of the leaders of both sides, China ASEAN agricultural cooperation has achieved fruitful results, forming a pattern of agricultural cooperation with complementary advantages and mutual benefit. Henan is the granary of China, and ASEAN is an important granary of the world. The joint efforts of the two "granaries" will inject abundant energy into regional development and prosperity. We look forward to sending a strong signal of cooperation through this conference, building a high-end and pragmatic dialogue platform, exploring a number of mutually beneficial cooperation projects, focusing on developing smart agriculture, building efficient supply chains, increasing policy communication and capacity training, sharing cooperation experience, aligning cooperation intentions, and jointly exploring new opportunities and models for agricultural cooperation. The center will closely focus on implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of both sides and aligning their strategies, work together with all parties to promote agricultural cooperation between the two sides to a higher quality and level, and make new contributions to advancing the China ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership.
