The 72nd birthday celebration of King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia will be held on May 14th

The 72nd birthday celebration of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni will be held on May 14, 2025.

During the celebration, Buddhist monks will recite sutras and pray for blessings for Sihamoni. Sihamoni will also donate offerings and donations to the temple for its development.

After the ceremony, Sihamoni will also donate materials to those in need, including rice, mosquito nets, blankets, clothing, and cash, to express her care for the people.

According to tradition, every year on May 14th, Cambodian civil servants, workers, and staff will take a day off to celebrate the birth of the king.

On the morning of May 13th, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Ma Nai issued a congratulatory letter, congratulating King Sihamoni on his 72nd birthday. In his congratulatory letter, Hong Mane expressed that at this important moment, he would like to represent the Cambodian government, national civil servants, and all armed forces to extend his sincerest wishes to King Sihamoni, sincerely wishing him a long and healthy life, good health, and continued blessings for the prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people.

Hong Manet pointed out that King Sihamoni is a symbol of national unity, progress, national unity, and sustainable development. Through royal activities, he promotes Cambodia's development in various fields such as economy, society, diplomacy, religion, education, and culture, leading the people to steadily move towards prosperity and flourishing in peace.

It is reported that Norodom Sihamoni was born on May 14, 1953, and was the eldest son of the late Cambodian Emperor Norodom Sihanouk and his sixth wife Monile.

On October 14, 2004, Sihamoni officially ascended to the throne and became the King of Cambodia. Prior to his accession, Sihamoni served as Cambodia's representative to UNESCO.

In 2004, after the abdication of former King Norodom Sihanouk, Sihamoni was unanimously elected as the new King of Cambodia by the Cambodian Royal Council through anonymous voting.
