On November 10th, the China ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Innovation Cooperation Training Course, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by the Secretariat of the China ASEAN Expo, was officially launched in Nanning, Guangxi, China. Wang Jicai, Secretary General of the Secretariat of the East Expo, and Deputy Secretary General successfully attended the opening ceremony of the training course. 28 students from 5 countries including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Mongolia participated in the training course.
At the ceremony, Wang Jicai introduced the experience and innovative measures of the 22nd East Expo, highlighting the "AI as the protagonist", fully empowering the entire process of organizing exhibitions and events with AI, innovatively establishing an AI pavilion, and launching the "AI East Expo" intelligent agent. He stated that the Secretariat of the East Expo has organized training programs on artificial intelligence and digital economy multiple times, which have received widespread praise from the trainees. Among the nine major areas covered by the recently signed China ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0 Upgrade Protocol, the digital economy ranks first. Against this backdrop, the holding of the training course is timely and will play a positive role in further deepening innovation cooperation between the two sides in the field of artificial intelligence. This training course will invite officials from relevant government departments and experts and scholars to organize special lectures on topics such as the application prospects of AI big models and multimodal technology in ASEAN, opportunities for cooperation with ASEAN's digital economy, etc., focusing on in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics of concern such as empowering thousands of industries with artificial intelligence.
Professor Li Jinyi from the University of Raman in Malaysia, speaking as a representative of the students, expressed his hope to gain a deeper understanding of China's theoretical training and industrial application in the field of AI through the courses of the training course, explore opportunities for cooperation between China and other countries in this field, and look forward to witnessing the specific projects and practical applications of AI firsthand during the training course.
This training course will be held from November 10th to November 14th, 2025, lasting for 5 days.
