On November 6th, the establishment conference of the "Global Southern Media Partners" mechanism and the 13th Global Video Media Forum were held in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. More than 300 guests, including heads of international organizations and media institutions from 40 countries and regions, representatives of relevant embassies in China, attended the event and witnessed the release of multiple media cooperation achievements.
At the event, Zhao Yide, Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Shen Haixiong, Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Central Radio and Television Station, Zhao Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Governor of Shaanxi Province, Fan Yun, Deputy Editor in Chief of the Central Radio and Television Station and CGTN Editor in Chief, as well as Mu Yaya, Minister of News and Media of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Government Spokesperson, Nguyen Qinglin, Director of Vietnam Television Station, Sherametaliev, President of the Kabal National News Agency in Kyrgyzstan, Nguna, President of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, Nadim, Secretary General of the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union, Suleiman, Secretary General of the Arab States Broadcasting Union, Isasha, Chairman of the Latin American News Union, and Greene, Chairman of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union. This mechanism aims to promote deepening cooperation among media in the global South and enhance the discourse power of the "Global South" through the principles of "co construction and sharing, mutual trust and assistance, seeking common ground while reserving differences, and diverse cooperation". Currently, 528 media organizations, including ASEAN Headlines, have joined, covering 114 countries and regions.
