Elmet's New 3D Printing System to Revolutionize Hypersonic Heat Exchangers
Elmet Technologies is set to transform hypersonic vehicle manufacturing with a new 3D printing system, promising significant advancements for ASEAN factories.
Elmet's New 3D Printing System to Revolutionize Hypersonic Heat Exchangers \nElmet Technologies, a subsidiary of the Elmet Group, is making waves in the aerospace industry by installing a DMP Flex 350 Triple metal 3D printer from 3D Systems. This cutting-edge technology is aimed at producing heat exchangers for hypersonic vehicles, a move that could have far-reaching implications for Southeast Asian manufacturers.\nThe installation of this advanced 3D printer follows an eight-year collaboration between Elmet and 3D Systems' Application Innovation Group (AIG). The focus of their joint effort has been on developing printing parameters for C103, a high-temperature alloy composed of niobium, hafnium, and titanium. This material is particularly suited for extreme aerospace applications but requires precise control of oxygen levels during the printing process.\
