SeQent's Acquisition of OAS Enhances Data Connectivity for ASEAN Factories

SeQent's Strategic Move: A Game-Changer for ASEAN Factories \\[SeQent, a leading provider of industrial alarm notification and plant-floor communication software, has recently acquired Open Automation Software (OAS). This move is set to revolutionize the way ASEAN factories manage their data, offering a comprehensive solution that bridges the gap between data collection and actionable insights.\\\\ **Data Integration and Visualization for Enhanced Efficiency** \\[The acquisition of OAS by SeQent extends the company's portfolio upstream, integrating edge-to-cloud connectivity, data movement, historization, and visualization. For factories in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia, this means a more streamlined and efficient process for managing and utilizing industrial data. With OAS, factories can now seamlessly connect controllers, databases, and cloud services, regardless of the vendor. This flexibility is particularly valuable in ASEAN, where many factories operate with a mix of legacy and modern equipment.\\\\ **Unified Data Management for Better Decision-Making** \\[One of the key benefits of the SeQent-OAS integration is the ability to create a unified data management system. The OAS platform, with its Universal Data Connector, allows data to flow freely between different systems, such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens controllers, Modbus devices, and OPC servers. This ensures that all data, whether from SCADA, MES, or PLC systems, is centralized and accessible. For ASEAN factories, this means better visibility into operations, enabling more informed and timely decision-making.\\\\ **End-to-End Solution for Alarm Notification and Response** \\[SeQent's existing platform excels in alarm notification and escalation, delivering critical alerts to various devices and channels, including two-way radios, smartphones, and PA systems. By integrating OAS, SeQent now offers an end-to-end solution that covers the entire data lifecycle, from collection to action. This is especially beneficial for ASEAN factories, where quick and effective response to alarms can significantly reduce downtime and improve overall productivity.\\\\ **Real-World Impact on ASEAN Manufacturing** \\[Several Fortune Global 500 manufacturers in the automotive, pharmaceuticals, and consumer packaged goods sectors already use both SeQent and OAS. In ASEAN, where the manufacturing sector is rapidly growing, the combined capabilities of SeQent and OAS can drive significant improvements in operational efficiency and cost savings. For example, a factory in Thailand running multiple generations of equipment from different vendors can now have a single, integrated path for data and alarm management, reducing complexity and enhancing reliability.\\\\ **Conclusion: A Clear Path to Digital Transformation** \\[For ASEAN factory buyers, the SeQent-OAS integration presents a clear and compelling path to digital transformation. By providing a seamless, end-to-end solution for data connectivity, historization, and alarm management, SeQent and OAS are empowering factories to achieve higher levels of efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. As the manufacturing landscape in ASEAN continues to evolve, this strategic move by SeQent is poised to make a significant impact, driving the region's factories towards a more connected and intelligent future.\\\\
